The Javea Area

Montgo overlooking Javea Arenal Beach

With the impressive Montgo mountain providing a stunning back drop to the town and numerous beautiful beaches along its coast line – including the award winning Granadella - it's easy to see why Javea is regarded as one of the jewels of the Costa Blanca.

Known as the "Amanecer de España" by locals ("dawn of Spain") – thanks to its positioning as the Eastern most point of the country, Javea can loosely be divided into three distinct areas – the charming old town, the lively port and the cosmopolitan Arenal.

Set back from the coast, the old town or "pueblo" is where we find the historic centre of Javea. It is here that Javeas principal church "San Bartolome" is located and where the weekly market is held on a Thursday. Amongst the maze of narrow streets and alleys there are some fantastic bars and restaurants in which to sample traditional "tapas"!

Javea PortHeading towards the coast and just a five-minute walk away we reach the port. With a promenade lined with quality restaurants on one side and the Mediterranean stretching out for miles on the other, a harbor and the stunning "Virgen de Loreto" church – which is shaped like a ships hull – it's not hard to see why this is one of the most popular areas in town!

Finally, to the Arenal and the most touristy part of Javea, thanks in large part to its sandy beach and the large selection of restaurants, bars and nightlife. During the evenings in the summer there is a lovely night market where you can purchase artesan products. The Arenal is the ideal spot to enjoy a cocktail and watch the breath-taking sunsets over the Montgo mountain.

Javea benefits from a unique microclimate making it one of the healthiest places to live in the world. The winters are relatively mild (with day time temperatures often between 16-20 degrees) and the summers long and hot – usually around the mid 30s. It has on average 320 days of sunshine a year.

JaveaJavea offers the perfect outdoors lifestyle – whether you are looking to relocate permanently, invest, or have a holiday home here, there is something on offer for everyone.

For the active you can enjoy a wide range of water sports including stand up paddle boarding, jet skis and scuba diving. The regions roads are popular with cyclists from across the world, and there are many beautiful scenic walks you can enjoy.

If you prefer to take it easy you can relax on one of Javea's seven beaches, enjoy a drink in one of the many bars or shop in one of the boutique stores.

There is always plenty going on for children, and the fiestas throughout the year are guaranteed to impress – and not least because of the spectacular firework displays!!

Javea is one of the larger towns in the Northern Costa Banca and offers a good selection of properties to suit all needs and budgets.
