Further Afield Areas
Inland from Javea and Moraira there are various towns, the most popular ones being in the areas of the Orba and Jalon Valleys.
Jalon is a town with a good mix of nationalities from native Spanish to British, Dutch, German and other Northern European nationals. It has a vibrant café culture with several cafes and restaurant offering al fresco dining.
There is also the famous bodega that offers wine tasting and wine that can be bought by the gallon! Around Jalon you will find the villages of Alcalali, LLiber, Senija, Parcent, Murla, all offering their unique charm.
This area is especially beautiful in the spring with a pink sea of almond blossom as far as the eye can see.
Orba, a pretty Spanish town offering peace and tranquillity yet only 15 minutes to the busy coastal town of Denia and the recently opened La Marina shopping centre. Various cafes and bars can be found in the square and there are several restaurants. There are many there are many other small villages in the area, Sagra, Tormas, Benidoleig, Beniarbeig, all having close knit communities of mixed nationalities. It is easy to become part of village life and join in with all the fun of the fiestas.
Pedreguer is only 10 minutes from Javea and Denia and offers a Spanish culture yet so close to the coast and ex-pat lifestyles. It also has a very popular Sunday market offering, new and second hand goods, as well fruit and vegetables.
Gata De Gorgos, is a more traditional town with a mainly Spanish population. Although there is new development "Gata Residential" that sees a large population of ex-pats enjoying the community spirit and spectacular views it offers.
